A Celebration of Imogene’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday October 29, 2018 at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, IL.  Burial will follow in Oblong Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday from 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. at Pulliam Funeral Home Oblong, IL.

The family requests, that in lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Lincoln Trail College Theater Department or the Oblong Food Pantry.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Imogene L. (Waldrop) Lindsey, 90, of Robinson, IL formerly of Oblong, IL passed away on Tuesday October 23, 2018 at Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL surrounded by her family.

She was born in Landes, IL on April 15, 1928 to Ray Waldrop and Pauline (Messenger) Waldrop.  On June 9, 1946 she married R. Keith Lindsey, who preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 1998.

Imogene retired from Crawford County State Bank in 1976.  She then became the first Registrar at Lincoln Trail College and later was a cook at Oblong High School for several years.  She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Oblong, IL and was a graduate of the Oblong High School class of 1946.  She was very active in her church with MYF Methodist Youth Fellowship, as a Sunday school teacher and she also enjoyed singing in the choir.  Imogene also enjoyed camping with her family and refurbishing dolls.  She was known as the “Doll Lady” along with Marie Catt and Norma Rains for all the dolls they refurbished and gave to missions.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Don and Cynthia Lindsey, Fieldon, IL; a daughter and son-in-law Judy and Chuck Schiller, Robinson, IL; two grandchildren Cary Schiller, Robinson, IL and Cristi Schiller, Vincennes, IN.  She is also survived by a sister Norma VanWinkle, Robinson, IL; a brother and sister-in-law Dene and Sandy Waldrop, Sumner, IL and four sisters-in-law Shirley Waldrop, Shermon, IL, Neva Otey, Oblong, IL, Blodwyn Price, Oblong, IL and Mary Lindsey, Robinson, IL along with several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, grandson Chad Duane Schiller and a brother Darrell Waldrop.
